  • To study the characteristic frequencies of the coupled pendulum. To determine the coupling factors for various coupling lengths, the angular frequencies for "in-phase" and "in opposite phase" vibration, and the angular frequencies of the beat mode. To study the linear relation between the square of the coupling lengths, beat mode, and the square of the frequency for "in-opposite phase" vibration and to determine the spring constant of the coupling spring. The complete setup should include 

  • Support Beam-: Material : Mild steel, Dimension : Approx. 54x2x2 cm (L x W x thickness), Support Rod : 2 numbers, Approx.1.5 cm diameter, Beam Hole : Approx. 0.5 cm diameter, Hole position : Both side from center.

 

  • Pendulum Rod & Weight-: Material : Mild steel, Rod dimension : Approx. 75x1.5 cm (Lx dia.), Hole position : at least five different positions from the top of the rod. Weightdimension: as appropriate.

 

  • Base – 2 numbers, Connecting rod – 2 numbers, Rod with weight – 2 numbers, Springs – 2 numbers, Hook assembly - 2 numbers, Round base – 2 numbers, Scale – 2 numbers.
